1) 3 media sectors other than a television are: - Film - Radio - Internet 2) If we use YouTube as an example of a media platform, the videos on it are the product as that is what YouTube provides us with. media products are what the media platforms contain/consist of. 3) 3 companies i would associate with televisions would be: - YouTube - iPlayer - Netflix 4) A Media Conglomerate is a large company that owns a large amount of companies in mass media. for example Walt Disney is a very large company that owns a large amounts of companies such as ABC television services, Pixar studios, Hollywood records studio productions, Disneyworld Disneyland. this means that if the conglomerate wants to publish something then it can use all of the companies to advertise it so it gets the most notice and interest from its suggested audience. 5) 3 major conglomerates are: - Walt Disney - CBS -Time Warner As said earlier Walt Disney owns many companies (examples above) CBS is a netwo...

This week we were asked to get into pairs and explore the link of the key words with a conglomerate. me and Eloise decided to use a Disney film as an example so used Walt Disney as the conglomerate, breaking down each month of advertising the film and how the conglomerate attracts the audience. we also learnt that synergy is connected to it by advertising the film on separate apps and companies showing the 2 companies working together to make the advertisement more popular. we also learnt that the media conglomerate prioritizes audiences so that their adverts cover all relevant audiences so that more people are intrigued in the film. they are also very knowledgeable about what companies to approach to advertise the film e.g when the film is in cinemas they approach mcdonalds to have happy meal toys to attract the kids. we learnt that media convergence has the power to control the other companies due to their power of being very rich and popular. this gives Walt Disney lots of op...
